There are many reasons why some vapers cannot reach the promised number of puffs for a disposable vape. Most of the time, it is due to false advertisements of the company, the product being a fake version of the brand, or sometimes, user error. Here are a few reasons vapers cannot achieve the most out of their disposable vapes.
Understanding the Difference Between DTL and RDL of Vaping
Vapers consume vape products in two different ways. DTL (Direct to Lung) intake is long dragging in layman’s terms. It is where a vaper takes a long and deep vapour intake and then puffs it out. Common for vapers who love cloud chasing. RDL (Restrictive Direct Lung) intake is the short drag or how you puff a regular cigarette.
The difference in vaping intake is one of the main factors that even the most reputable brands for disposable vapes cannot deliver the advertised number of puffs. Vape consumers should understand that a single DTL intake doesn’t count as a single puff for disposable vapes. Going back to the traditional box mods, a satisfying single DTL or long drag intake can consume 4 – 5 ml of e-liquid on the cotton of the atomizer just with one puff alone. It does produce huge chunks of clouds vaping this way, but it also comes with a considerable amount of e-liquid spent.
A 6000 puff disposable vape may contain around 14 – 18ml of prefilled e-liquid. A single long drag can already deplete 30 – 35% of its content. That is why to maximize and reach the promised numbers of any particular disposable vape product; a vaper must consume it in RDL way of intake. Short drag makes more sense to disposable vape since they always use the term puff or puffs in their advertisement. Nowhere does it says 6,000 long drags or 6,000 cloud chases. The conclusion, RDL intake will make any disposable vape products last longer.
The Infestation of Clones in the Vaping Market
Clones, 1:1, or in short, fake. Fakes always come at lower prices than the original product and look the same as the real deal. Indeed, these imitations will not deliver the promised number of puffs no matter what. These fakes are made with lesser quality materials on their builds, which means the battery inside can also be fake. The e-liquid inside a phoney product is also dangerous, as nobody knows if it is intended for vaping or is safe for human consumption. Paying less doesn’t mean getting more, not with fake vape products.
Great Promises of a False Advertisement
Why do vape manufacturers do these kinds of stuff? Because the higher the number it is there, the more people would want to buy it. Every vape shop owner knows very well that with higher puff counts, disposable vapes sell well and sell too fast. The demands for disposable vapes with great numbers printed on them are astounding. But it is not primarily the brand or the manufacturers doing these false advertisements.
Contrary to common beliefs, it all comes to the re-sellers or private individuals who sell these disposable vapes physically or on social media, which are the mastermind of these schemes. Most disposable vape brands and manufacturers only print the number of puffs labels on their boxes but not on the actual unit. Re-sellers abuse this hole in the system to do their sketchy thing. They would now advertise mind-blowing numbers on their posting, claiming that they’re selling a 5,000 puffs disposable vape, but it is only a 2,000 puffs variant. Newbies or uncultured vapers will now blame it do the brand itself for doing a false advertisement with their product. Doing a little research before buying a disposable vape is always better than just jumping straight into the bandwagon.
Final Thoughts
Disposable vapes are now taking over the new normal of vaping. Just like the traditional vaping mods, it also has advantages and drawbacks. It is better to stay vigilant and intelligent while being a responsible vaper at the same time.
